Botany In Action has built and reinforced a network of Mentors,
comprised of prominent academics and professionals in top
university programs and at botanical institutions.  BIA mentors
perform the following roles:

identify bright, talented, engaging graduate students and
nominate them for grants
open doors in the world of economic botany and ecology
educate - by lecturing and by proposing colleagues to
speak

This community provides incalculable support to BIA.  In addition
to selecting grantees, these individuals validate BIA's mission &
program, help BIA obtain coverage in important publications like
the Society for Economic Botany Newsletter, and challenge BIA to
ever broaden its horizons.
